In A Nutshell
I’ll try to give some basics about who I think I am and hope it’s reasonably accurate. I think I’m hard to categorize. I am a serious person deep down but I love and treasure humor. I love to laugh and to make others laugh. I treasure my two adult children and my close friends.
I have a dog who constantly tells me he’s a genius and he must be right because he seems to ultimately get whatever he wants. I love him anyway—dogs are great.
I love and treasure nature. My deepest spiritual moments have occurred 100 feet underwater on coral reefs. I am politically liberal but not knee-jerk.
I’m a sports fan. Unfortunately, having grown up in New York City, my #1 team is the New York Knicks. In the 21st century the Knicks have the overall worst record. I also went to Columbia College, and they have a truly prestigious college football record—most consecutive losses. I remain loyal.
I like the usual things—water, sports, theater, singing, dancing, loving. I like to read and learn new things.
I want to meet someone sweet and kind. The rest flows from that because love is something you do as well as feel (or, as Hillel said, "the rest is commentary").
The One I Am Looking For
Kindness, a sense of humor, intelligence, strong moral values, fun. Someone who can be both playful and serious. Unselfish. Someone who values and desires a special relationship.
I'd Just Like to Add
I love dogs--I was about to say "not a deal breaker," but as my one-year-old dog saw me start to type it he gave me a really mean, scary look. I probably need someone who has intellectual interests, although that may sound pretentious, but I like to talk and think about serious stuff sometimes. Companionship and caring are what it's really all about.
