In A Nutshell
I'm 62 (but look and act younger). Lost my longtime girlfriend 15 months ago. I work in Philadelphia, although I'm originally from New York City and will always consider myself a New Yorker (go Yankees!) I'm a liberal, a Democrat, a Jew, a huge science fiction fan. I love reading, movies, cooking and baking, and arguing. Oy, do I love to argue! I'm a very kind, patient person with a great sense of humor. And I have the best dog who ever lived (that's a statement of objective fact, not opinion -- proofs available upon request).
The One I Am Looking For
Sense of humor. Kindness. Patience. Easy-going. SMART. Interested in science fiction, politics, movies, theater, books, baseball, soccer, ice hockey--any or all! Likes dogs, cats, the beach, picnics.
I'd Just Like to Add
I'm too smart for my own good. I have the world's thickest skin (being teased in good fun makes me laugh). I think kindness is the most underrated virtue. I'm very patient. I can talk your ear off but I'm also a good listener. My girlfriend, who died last year, was sick almost the entire time I knew her, and I was her caregiver the final seven years of her life. But she never lost her hope, her cheerfulness, or her resolve. I don't know if I'm ready to move on yet, but until recently I was absolutely ruling out completely even the thought that I might ever even want to meet someone else. At least now I'm not ruling it out. Maybe all I'm ready for is friendship. I won't know until I try.
